I picked this article up from hacker news about a 82 year old Japanese women who is successful in coding apps. She not only has taught herself how to code, she actually has a successful app out called Hindan.
Hindan is a game for older people currently sitting at 4.9 stars out of 5, this is an excellent achievement considering the 82 year old Masako Wakamiya started this process in early 2017. The reason for this achievement is put down to motivation, which in a way isn’t surprising because you certainly need to be motivated, dedicated and switched on to learn cod in your early 80’s.
Another point from the article is that Masako saw a gap or a need for something which was apps for older people. So when there is a need someone has to provide and if no ones providing you step up, that’s what Masako did. Motivation to achieve something is powerful.
This story of an 82 year old app developer might not be much to some but for those wanting and needing a force to get something done. Here it is. If an 82 year old can learn code and develop a successful app then a 20 something year old can too. There is no stopping one who wants to learn, grow and better themselves.
In most instances to achieve you don’t need the flash gear, you don’t need money, you don’t need a background you just need you and motivation.
