Introducing Kayo Sports; First impressions

This can’t be real right? Foxtel having a decent sports streaming service!? Early days but Kayo Sports looks pretty good for its price.

After your 14 day free trial for $25 per month you get 2 users at the same time and access to over 50 sports (they claim) in HD. AFL, NRL, Soccer, NBA, NBL, NFL, Cricket, Boxing, Golf, F1 and more it’s what all the sports fans need and have been asking for.

For the American sports it is only selected games that get shown, so you cannot get rid of league pass and expect to watch all NBA games with Kayo Sports.

Kayo Sports is currently in beta but works fine from my experience, from watching live cricket the player timeline gets buttons for when something interesting happens like a 6 or wicket so you can easily find these moments without scrubbing back and forward. That in itself is a nice feature.

Another aspect that i found great was the quality, its decent. You can watch the cricket in 1080p at 50 FPS that beats 720p 30fps comfortably.

Here is the resolution, bit rate and FPS for the Kayo Sports cricket stream:

I also had no stuttering with my average NBN connection and find the peeering very good at the times i have used Kayo sports.
