NBA regular season compared to playoffs shot distance data in a table for ranges in 5ft intervals taken from the NBA API. Data used was the average of each team per season, with the values being per game.
This is the finale post. A continuation from this post for the regular season (Tables), then the playoffs charts (Tables) and finally both combined.
The range intervals are:
- 5ft and less
- 5 to 9ft
- 10 to 14ft
- 15 to 19ft
- 20 to 24ft
- 25 to 29ft
- 30 to 34ft
- 40ft plus
The three-point line in the NBA is 22 feet in the corners and 23 feet elsewhere, which sees the data points 20-24ft, 25-29ft, 30-34ft and 40ft plus as 3 point range shots and 15-19ft as long mid-range.
