PHP GET sends data or a value through the URL, obviously not good or used for passwords but it is good to shape that URL’s page contents. Do note that GET is limited to 1024 characters.
profile.php?id=56389
<?php $id = $_GET['id']; function get_name($id){ $data = json_decode(file_get_contents("https://someapiurl.com&id=".$id.""),true); $name = $data->name; return $name; } echo get_name($id);
For the above example when we navigate to profile.php?id=56389
it will echo the name for profile 56389 from the api (example). To get the name for id 341 we just need to navigate to profile.php?id=341
and don’t need to change any code. You can see how easy $_GET can make things and this is just a small example.
