Samsung have done ads targeting the weakness of Apple before. Yes creative and drove the point home strong, the first time. Now they have released this ad:

Again pointing to Apples weakness or flaws in that the iPhone 6 gets throttled performance when its battery life starts to die. They point out it being not waterproof, slow and can’t have offline content and maps? (which it can).

All this would be fair game if it was 2014 still! Samsung have used their latest 2018 Galaxy phone to the 2014 Apple iPhone 6. Not even close to a decent comparison.

The latest iPhone model has better performance, waterproofing and of course it can save offline media and maps. In terms of the performance throttling, well its most likely still there.

In essence Samsung shot itself in the foot with this, they had to go back 4 years to find an iPhone model that their current one has the better of, ouch! Based on this Reddit thread on the ad, A Samsung phone from 2014 has shocking battery life not to mention Samsung phones (battery) have caught on fire in the past and needed to be banned from aircraft.

Samsung tried to fling dirt at Apple when in fact if you look beyond the surface this ad showcases what Samsung has going for it against Apple today, that’s nothing. The iPhone X is selling well against what was predicted and over at Samsung they think they’re clever because they compared their 2018 phone to a 2014 iPhone.
