WordPress was created way back in 2003 with PHP! It is a highly simple to setup and configure content posting tool or the internet. Not just for blogging, you can sell, show and interact though WordPress. A lot of these features are thanks to the massive amount of plugins available.
WordPress does have a little bit of controversy to it with insecurities and it being labled by developers as being bloated and slow. But given how easy it is to use, navigate and learn WordPress will always thrive.
The ability to massively customise WordPress can’t be overlooked. A huge range of theme’s paid and free, plus the ability to customise these again in the admin panel. WordPress gets regular updates and continues to be a giant amongst the online content publishing sector.
