With 4k video you can digitally zoom to x2 this gets matched with a crop (scale) in Premiere Pro for the comparison.
The digital zoom comes out slightly softer than using a crop in post-editing. If only doing a trim to the video and no editing then the zoom mode comes in handy otherwise doing a crop gives sharper results.
