Australian cricket has always had at least one quick bowler tearing apart opposition teams, We have seen Mitchel Johnson do it. Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood is this present time, But who do we have to come along next?
Currently the BBL is on every night so its easy prospecting but from last season and the current season these are who I see in the running to get a gig as a fast bowler for the Australian cricket team:
Name | Age | Height | Bowling arm |
Billy Stanlake | 23 | 204cm | Right |
Mark Steketee | 23 | 187cm | Right |
Jhye Richardson | 21 | 190cm | Right |
Ben Dwarshuis | 23 | 190cm | Left |
Daniel Sams | 25 | 189cm | Left |
Chris Tremain | 25 | 193cm | Right |
There are quite a few medium-fast going around, but the list above is those who can and regularly bowl above 140kph. True express pace.
Billy Stanlake is my personal favorite to have an impact on the international scene, he has height and real pace getting the ball into the high 140kph! There may even be a surprise and a 19 year old flies through the ranks to debut.
But for now the Australian fast bowling attack is looking very solid and it is performing well. You don’t fix something that isn’t broke either…
